This is a Letter to Jose A. Sordo, of the Union Athletica de Amateurs de Cuba, from Leslie Mann, the executive secretary and treasurer of the International Amateur Baseball Federation, dated September 30, 1938. It is Letter #1 of six numbered letters concerning the hosting of the 1939 John Moores Cup Series, also known as the World's Amateur Baseball Championship. The letters may have been reproduced and included in a mailing, as this is not the original. This letter asks whether they would be willing to host the John Moores Cup. He states that the goals of the Cup is to bring amateur baseball to "the same high level as the Davis Cup is to Tennis and it would be the top International goal each non Olympic year.
