Description:
This is a group photograph of Springfield College International visitors from China. Included in the photograph is Coach Charles J. Smith (Second to the left) and Zhou YiXian and Gongcheng Chen (middle). The exact date is not known, but it may have been taken in 1979 or 1980. The note attached to the photograph said "2 pictures sent with brief note from Dr Fu (and me) 9/25/81." Zhou Yixian and Gongcheng Chen were one of the first Chinese visitors after the Cultural Revolution in China to come to Springfield College. These were three ccoaches: Yunpeng Chen, Gongcheng Chen, and Yixian Zhou, and they came from the All-China Sport Federation, People’s Republic of China, to train in Springfield College via the operation of National Committee on United State-China Relations on November 1978. The gentlemen on the far left may be Yunpeng Chen, but is not identified.
