Springfield College's baseball player records for the Society for American Baseball Research (December 6, 1989)
Description:
This document is from the Springfield College's Registrar's Office regarding baseball player records for the Society for American Baseball Research (December 6, 1989). The players record in question is: Leslie Mann, Joseph R. Bennett, Glenn E. Spencer, Harry L. Kingman, Ralph Mitterling, Edwin P. Twombly, Clifford R. Crawford, Warren L. Hoston, John A. LaMabe, Archie F. Moore, Wayne A. Granger, and Glenn C. Adams. Cappy Gagnon was the member of the Society for American Baseball Research who reached out to Springfield College. The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is an organization that collects information on baseball players from all eras, and they post this information on their website for anyone to see. The SABR has biographies for thousands of players, whether they be from the 1920's or from the present, and the site is probably considered the go to for anyone looking for information about certain players in the MLB. It appears that around the year 1989 is when the SABR began to move towards attempting to expand their research on players.
