Springfield College baseball team photographs 1915
Description:
Twelve individual photographs of the baseball team from 1915. The manager, coach, captain, and other team members are included. Some of the players are posing with a bat while others are holding their baseball mitt. The members names are at the bottom of each image, "Mgr. Mason, Miller, Kingman, Kindle, Whalen, Coach Berry, Richardson, Peterson, Eddy, Zielminsky, Cantwell, Capt Fountain." It is believed that under Walter Campbell's picture, the team wrote Cantwell as a joke. In 1915, they went 10-4-0 and were coached by Elmer Berry. Berry coached a total of ten seasons (1915-1917, 1919-1923, 1925-1926) and had an overall all record of 79-62-0 with a .560 winning percentage.
