Letter from Edward W. Strong to Ralph L. Cheney (March 29, 1919)
Description:
A two-page letter from Edward W. Strong to Ralph L. Cheney, dated March 29th, 1919. In this letter, Strong tells Cheney that it would be unlikely for him to go back to the college as a student in the fall due to financial difficulties and troubles at home; despite this, he states that he would still like to see Springfield again. He also writes about the likelihood of the Boys Work Course at the college having a "great future" because there is a great need for it. Ralph L. Cheney served as the head of Springfield College’s Secretarial Department from 1907 to 1924. Before taking this position, he worked as a YMCA secretary in Albany and Niagara Falls, New York.
