Foss graduated from Springfield College in 1899 and went on to serve as director of the physical education department at the Chicago Young Men’s Christian Association College, now known as George Williams College. In 1935, Springfield College awarded him the Tarbell Medallion, which recognizes “alumni rendering distinctive service for their Alma Mater.”
