This is a photograph of Springfield College faculty member Beth Evans. In the photograph, Evans is wearing a shirt with a corsage pinned on it. She is standing and smiling at the camera. A flag with three human figures jumping over a hurdle can be seen behind her. The photograph was probably taken after her lecture as the Distinguished Professor of Humanics in 1996. Elizabeth Evans earned her B.S. degree in 1962 and her M.Ed. degree in 1970, both from Springfield College. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa in 1963 and 1964, and a Physical Education teacher and Coach of the Women's Swimming and Gymnastic teams at Longmeadow High School from 1965 to 1969. She became a faculty member in Physical Education at SC in 1971. She was appointed as Distinguished Professor of Humanics of Springfield College in 1996. The handwriting on the back of the photograph says "ELIZABETH EVANS academic year 1995-1996."
