This is a portrait photograph of Springfield College faculty member Beth Evans. In the photograph, she is sitting at her desk, holding a pen and some documents in her hands, and smiling at the camera. A poster says "GREAT IDEAS ARE BORN HERE." can be seen behind her on the wall. The back of the photograph says "BETH EVANS - April 1987," suggesting the time when the photograph was taken. Elizabeth Evans earned her B.S. degree in 1962 and her M.Ed. degree in 1970, both from Springfield College. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa in 1963 and 1964, and a Physical Education teacher and Coach of the Women's Swimming and Gymnastic teams at Longmeadow High School from 1965 to 1969. She became a faculty member in Physical Education at SC in 1971. She was appointed as Distinguished Professor of Humanics of Springfield College in 1996.
