Chuck Roys was head coach of the Springfield College men's baseball team for 18 seasons from 1979-1996. He finished his career with an overall record of 323 wins, 295 losses, and 5 ties, a winning percentage of .522. Roys began coaching the freshman team at Springfield College in 1969, and replaced Archie Allen as head coach once he retired in 1978. Roys graduated from Springfield College in 1961, and earned his masters degree in 1967. Roys also served as an assistant professor of physical education. Roys was also the starting catcher for the United States Pan-Am team in 1963, which won a silver medal. The Pan-Am games are a multi-sport competition open to men and women representing countries from North, South, and Central America along with the Caribbean.
