This is a letter from James H. McCurdy to Laurence L. Doggett concerning Hui Man Fai's (Minhui Xu) credits and academic plans and work. The letter is dated October 6, 1923. Minhui Xu, or Man Fai Hui as he was knonw when he was at Springfield College, is recognized the pioneer of development of Chinese soccer and volleyball. Xu is a very famous professor in sport and physical education field and made a great of contribution in Chinese volleyball and swimming. Therefore, during the 1920s-1930s, there was a common saying, “the Northern China has Ma Yuehan, and the Southern China has Xu Minhui”. For more information on L.L.
