The 1951 New England Collegiate Baseball Championship Team

A photographic reprint of photograph and text of the 1950-1951 Springfield College Baseball team. They are sitting on bleachers in four rows. The first row are wearing their mitts and have baseball bats in front of them. Underneath is written, "The World Series Team: This is the 1951 NCAA Championship team (New England) which defeated Texas A&M in the College World Series." This was reproduced from the photograph and text on page 14 from the print manuscript titled "Great Enterprises: The Story of Baseball at Springfield College, 1891-1972.". The 1950-51 Springfield College, coached by Archie Allen, went 16 and 7. They won the New England Collegiate Championship and earned a trip to the NCAA Collegiate World Series where they won against Texas A & M, 5-1, and then lost 7-1 against Oklahoma University and 2-0 against Tennessee.
