Letter from the Commissioner of Immigration regarding John Ma (April 7, 1920)
Description:
This is a letter from the Commissioner of Immigration Service of the U.S. Department of Labor asking about John Ma (Ma Yuehan; 马约翰), who was at that time studying at Springfield College (then known as International YMCA College) (April 7, 1920). The letter shows that John Ma entered the United States at San Francisco. The Commissioner signed his name on the bottom right corner of the letter but the signature is hard to read. The letter was later answered by the Associate Director of Physical Department confirming John Ma's attendance at the College.
