This is a letter from Dr. James McCurdy, a faculty member of Springfield College (then known as International YMCA College) to John Ma (Ma Yuehan; 马约翰), an alumnus of the College (December 21, 1925), At the time the letter was written, John Ma was a graduate student at the College and was working on a project named "the transfer value of athletics". In the letter, Dr. McCurdy recommends reading materials and gives advice to aid John Ma to work on this project. The top right corner of the letter is torn and some of the text is missing.
