The cartoon depicts Dr. Naismith saying, "I don't know what kind of game it will make..But it will keep the boys out of mischief." The cartoon is actually somewhat accurate as Dr. Naismith was experimenting with the game in the initial stages, only to see its popularity grow beyond his belief.
