This is a letter of recommendation sent to the International YMCA College (now called Springfield College) for Colin Harley Falconer. The letter was sent on September 11, 1933. The author’s signature is illegible, but the document’s header shows it was sent from someone who worked for the Knox United Church in Saskatchewan, Canada. Falconer was born on August 21, 1915 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His father was a professor of New Testament literature in Halifax, Canada. Early in 1932, he worked as a volunteer counsellor at the Big Cove YMCA Camp (Halifax, Canada). Falconer applied to Springfield College on August 13, 1932 and started in the fall of 1933, but left at the end of the academic year.
