This is a letter of recommendation that was sent to the International YMCA College (now called Springfield College) on behalf of Colin Harley Falconer. The letter is addressed to John D. Brock, the chairman of the committee on admissions. The sender’s signature is difficult to interpret, but may say W. L. Erant. Falconer was born on August 21, 1915 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His father was a professor of New Testament literature in Halifax, Canada. Early in 1932, he worked as a volunteer counsellor at the Big Cove YMCA Camp (Halifax, Canada). Falconer applied to Springfield College on August 13, 1932 and started in the fall of 1933, but left at the end of the academic year.
