James Naismith wrote this letter to James Huff McCurdy on June 6, 1931. Naismith writes that he cannot send the original set of basketball rules as they are fading and he wishes to preserve them, but that he can mail a photograph of the original rules as well as mail photographs of himself. He also mentions a basketball exhibition and apologizes for having to miss the commencement and their class’ reunion. McCurdy graduated from Springfield College in 1890 and began working there five years later. To learn more about Dr. James Naismith, see: https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/645
