A lantern slide of the Springfield College Gym Team practicing floor exercises in Judd Gymnasia's west gymnasium. A smaller image of Professor Leslie Judd, long-time Gymnastics Team Coach and creator of the Tableaux, is inset in the upper right corner. This image is part of a collection of images that was used in a promotional pamphlet entitled, "Being the Story of a Young Man who elects to go to Springfield College." The text at the bottom reads, "He visits the West Gymnasium, the center for indoor activities and sports, and meets Professor L.J. Judd, the coach of Springfield's famous Gym Team which has exhibited in the United States, Canada and Mexico.". For biography of Leslie J. A numbered slide collection, with numbers ranging from 46 to 121, representing an incomplete set which was used by Springfield College as a recruitment tool during the 1930s. Included are views of campus buildings, faculty, students engaged in athletic and cultural activities, and provides a general idea of the steps a prospective student would experience when considering and choosing to attend Springfield College. Slides were taken from "A Cinema of Springfield College" a pamphlet for prospective students published by Springfield College and made available from George Draper, Alumni Secretary.
