Awarding of Doctoral Degree to Ted Kidess by Dr. Merriam (1958)
Description:
This is a sound recording of the awarding of the Doctoral Degree to Attallah A. Kidess by Dr. Thornton W. Merriam. The recording is thought to have been created in 1958, the year he was given his degree from Springfield College. The audio recording is around 4 and a half minutes long. The original recording was held on one side of a small seven inch Reeves Soundcraft record. The recording is very scratchy. The recording does mention another man's work, but the name of the person mentioned is hard to make out due to the quality of the recording. For biography of Attallah A. Kidess, see: https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/579. Technician note from Digitization says, "Sleeve says 45 RPM / Writing on LP says 33 1/3 / reverberant but intelligible";
