The captains are standing and Coach Zettl is kneeling with a soccer ball on his knee. Zettl was the first coach of women's soccer at Springfield College, starting during the inaugural 1980 season. He coached for 17 seasons (1980-84, and 1986-97) and he finished with a total win-loss-tie record of 156-106-21 for his career. Zettl's winning percentage was .590. These materials come from Coach Herbert Zettl's personal materials. In 2021, Coach Zettl graciously allowed the Archives to digitize and create facsimiles of materials to use in an exhibit. Facsimiles were created of each item and placed in a folder in the Soccer Team Records. Originals are still with Coach Zettl.
