Dr. Shaw got his bachelors from Elizabeth City State College and and Masters and Doctorate at North Carolina Central University and Duke University respectively. He taught at Springfield College as Professor of Physical Education from 1958 through 1993. Here he helped run and establish the college's Athletic Training Program.
