Description:
A two-page copy of two letters: the first letter was from Ralph L. Cheney to Carl Killam, dated March 4th, 1918; the second did not state the sender or receiver but was also dated March 4th, 1918. In the first letter, Cheney writes that he will act according to Killam's suggestion and hopes that the delay in reading Killam's message would not be an inconvenience. In the second letter, the sender testifies Killam's character, writing that he is a "man of sterling character, "valuable," among other positive attributes. Ralph L. Cheney served as the head of Springfield College’s Secretarial Department from 1907 to 1924. Before taking this position, he worked as a YMCA secretary in Albany and Niagara Falls, New York.
