This is a recommendation form for Wilbert Carey, a Springfield College (then known as YMCA Training School) alumnus, dated April 5, 1890. The name of the man who filled out the recommendation cannot be made out for sure. The recommendation talks about general information and impressions on Carey, including what impressions on personality, health and religion. Carey began working in YMCA facilities in 1891 and, from this, decided to attend the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts. After graduating in 1892, he worked as General Secretary at the YMCA facility in South Bend, Indiana until 1898. From 1899 to 1903, Carey worked as General Secretary at the YMCA in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. After leaving this position, he worked from 1904 until 1912 as the General Secretary at the YMCA in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He died June 16, 1940.
