Letter from Samuel S. Trumpour to Frank N. Seerley (August 20, 1917)
Description:
A three-page letter from Samuel S. Trumpour to Frank N. Seerley, dated August 20th, 1917. In this letter, Trumpour thanks Seerley for sending a letter containing information about some people on the front. He also asks for information about friends, including Mark Glanville, “Father” Cope, Charley Bind, R.M. Jones of Victoria, B.C. Herbert Patter Patterson, and an Australian. He then writes about him picking up a smoking habit and states that he wants to re-enter Springfield College if his wounded arm and finances are not major obstacles. Samuel Solmes Trumpour did not graduate from Springfield College. He would've graduated in 1916, but he left the college to make money to finish his course work. In 1915 he enlisted in the First Canadian Contingent to fight in World War I and was shipped overseas. Trumpour was wounded and taken prisoner. After the war he went to a Business College.
