A photograph of the 1965 Springfield College men's basketball team on the Stairway to a TWA plane. The airline was Pan American. The team wears matching jackets, shirts and ties. Some have pan am carryon luggage. Team from top to bottom: Coach Edward S. Steitz, Assistant Coach Tony Scolnick, Ralph Arietta, Leon Drury, George Wood (Public Information Director), Reed Schultz, Bill Scanlon, Larry Buell, bob Sisson, Paul Wagner, Rick Janes, Jim Champlin, and Ben Davis. The World Tour was a 62-day trip, including 25-games, and 110-clinic trips to India, Pakistan, China, and Japan. The team finished the summer tour with a record of 25-0. Head Coach and director of basketball at Springfield, Ed Steitz, led the clinics in the various countries. Photograph was framed. Photograph was taken out of frame to digitize and for preservation reasons.
