A newspaper article titled, "The mother of all coaches: Springfield's Zenaty influenced all aspects of game." The article was written by Trudy Tynan, an AP Sports Writer, and appeared in the Haverhill Gazette on September 19, 1994. The article speaks about Zenaty's influence on the game of Women's Field Hockey, and contains quotes from her and people she has coached, including Pam Hixon. There is a photo at the top of her coaching. Dottie Zenaty (Dorothy J. Potter) graduated Springfield College in 1965. As a student, she was a member of the tennis, field hockey, softball, and basketball teams. Zenaty then served as the head field hockey coach for thirty-four seasons, during which she coached more matches than any other coach in college field hockey history. With a record of 377-233-43 (.610 winning percentage), she also won more matches than any coach in New England and ranks fifth on college field hockey’s all-time victory list. In 1988, Zenaty assisted with the selection of the U.S. Olympic Team. The following year, she served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Junior Under-21 Team that competed in the first World Cup Championship and coached the Junior National squad in the Pan-American Games. She has coached in five U.S. Olympic Sports Festivals and supervised four NCAA Division I Championships. Zenaty retired in 2004 and was inducted into the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Hall of Fame that year.
