(Neils Peter) Neilson authored many books in the field of physical education including "Physical Education for Elementary Schools" and "Achievement Scales in Physical Education Activities for Boys and Girls in Elementary and Junior High Schools". He also served as the executive secretary of the American Association for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Neilson visited Springfield College in December 1941 to assist with the Health and Physical Education curriculum. He also spoke on "The Relation of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation to Growth and Development." at the special education forum on December 4, 1941.
