A portrait photograph of Eleanor Metheny. Eleanor Metheny (1908-1982) spent most of her career as a professor of physical education at the University of California. As an author, she published more than 150 articles, papers, and research studies, many of which were translated and published abroad. After retiring in 1971, she worked on a collection of historical works in physical education at the Pegasus Learning Center at USC.
