  <mods:abstract>A photograph of three men, relaxing on the campus of Springfield College, ca. May 1969. The photograph shows two men laying on the grass and one standing. The man standing is wearing a Holyoke Community College (HCC) jacket. There are a couple of cars and a building in the background. The photograph may have been taken during the black student protests that occurred on the campus on May 13 and 14, 1969. Legacy Alumni of Color idenfication on June 8th, 2021: Unnamed student wearing a Holyoke Community College (HCC) jacket. According to Don Brown, John Wilson (later SC's director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, among others positions) was a student at HCC at the time. John worked with Don at Upward Bound; the two lived together on Cedar Street in 1969. Don Brown noted that HCC students were engaged with the efforts of Black SC student activists, especially because many HCC Black students were from Springfield.;</mods:abstract>
