  <mods:abstract>A newspaper article titled "Three SC Players Ink Pro Contracts." The newspaper is not given, but on the piece of paper it is attached to it says June, 1970. The article talks about three players on the 1969-1970 baseball team who were given pro baseball league contracts at the end of the season. They included George Dixon, Minnesota Twins and Tom Bodcock and Kurt Aschermann with the Chicago Cubs. The Springfield College 1969-1970 Baseball team were 20-9-1. They were ranked fourth in the nation, winning the East Regionals and advancing to the NCAA Collegiate World Championships were they lost 3 to 1 to Nichols State and 5 to 3 to San Fernando Valley, now Cal State-Northridge.</mods:abstract>
