His stance is wide and his arms are out in front of him. The photo is in black and white. Edward R. Bilik began teaching physical education at Springfield College in 1959. He earned his BS and MS at Springfield College (1957, 1962) and his Ed.D. at the University of Oregon (1966). Bilik was head basketball coach at Springfield College from 1966 to 1986, during which he compiled an outstanding 322-196 overall record for a.622 winning percentage. He then became director of athletics at Springfield College, where he worked until his retirement in 1999. In 2011, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) awarded him the prestigious Metropolitan Award.
