  <mods:abstract>A portrait photograph of Thomas D. Wood. Thomas Wood is known for his contribution to the development of the new physical education program. The development of the new physical education helped spread the life of physical education to individuals. The philosophy of Thomas Wood was based on a natural education and a child-centered approach. Wood attended Stanford from 1891-1901, then studied physical education and health at the Teacher's College from 1901-1932.</mods:abstract>
