Copy of the Black Students Demand statement (ca. 1969)
Description:
This is a three page statement released on the Black Student Demands on the campus of Springfield College. It could be a draft as there are passages that look like they have been crossed out. No date for the draft is given, but it is thought to have been written in April 1969. The draft talks about some of the demands, in particular the hiring of black faculty and staff, scholarships for black students, increase of African Americans being admitted to the school, and a visible plan for a Black Cultural Center.
