This is a photograph of the 118-lb weight class champions at the NCAA Division II Championship at Morgan State University. Daryl Arroyo placed sixth, on the first raiser (number 6) on the right. All except the two wrestlers on the ends are holding plaques. The podium says Morgan State University on it. Arroyo attended and wrestled for Springfield College, and was a Division II All-American his senior year. He graduated from Springfield with a Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness in 1984. He then served as an assistant wrestling coach at California State University, Fullerton for three years where he received his Master's Degree in Physical Education. Later, Arroyo earned his PhD degree in Sport Psychology at the University of Connecticut. At Springfield, he coached for 21 seasons, and ended his career with 301 wins, 160 losses and 6 ties, for a .651 winning percentage. He was named Coach of the Year in 1991, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2011. This photograph was supplied from various sources to the Athletic Department for use in the 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame inductions. Only digital files were supplied.
