  <mods:abstract>A photographic print of casket or coffin mourning the death of free speech on Springfield College. According to the back of the photograph, the photograph was taken on February 18, 1970 by Richard Russell. The photograph shows four Springfield College students standing next to a casket propped against a pole. The casket has Free Speech written on the top and side and "Free Libow", referring to Larry Libow, on the bottom where the feet would be. The ground is covered with snow. On the shoulder of one of the students is perched a kitten or cat.</mods:abstract>
