Photograph of Ferdinand M. Siregar presenting the All-Indonesia Swimming Foundation Silver Medal to Springfield College's Dr. Attallah "Ted" Kidess, in December 1964. This was the first silver medal ever given. Siregar is standing to the left and holds the bottom of the case with the medal and Kidess stands to the right, holding the top. The award was made to Kidess "in appreciation of his help to the Indonesian Nation." At the time, he was the only person outside of Indonesia to ever receive this metal and the first to receive a silver one (gold and bronze also were given). Ferdinand M.
