A silent, black and white 16mm film of various clips from Springfield college athletics, mostly Gymnastics. The film is about two minutes long. It starts with a caption that reads, "News of the Day" and "Streamlined Training!". Behind the writing are Springfield College Gymnasts doing a Tableaux. The clip moves directly into football practice. This lasts only for a few seconds. The rest are Springfield College Gymnasts practicing in the West Gymnasium on the campus of Springfield College. Leslie Judd is shown. Tumbling, rings, Pommel Horse, and stacking on a Pommel Horse is shown. Some in slow motion (perhaps just different speed of film and not on purpose). On the original reel casing was written the following, " "Men of Muscle: News of the Day" and Clive Smith Ed Bagian Christ Blanchard 1940?". Technicians who cleaned and digitized film, wrote, "good condition."; Tape on outside of metal case says, "Men of Muscle: News of the Day" and Clive Smith Ed Bagian Christ Blanchard 1940?"; Original metal casing and reel were replaced during restoration and digitization.
