This is a memorandum written by Springfield College president, Wilbert E. Locklin and sent to Springfield College Alumni on the Black Student Demands. The memo is dated May 28, 1969. It talks about a new set of Black Demands that were presented to him on May 10, 1969 and the subsequent take over of the Administration building. The second page includes the demands. Materials contained within this scrapbook were removed from the original physical scrapbook due to preservation issues. Most documents were originally glued to the pages of the scrapbook, but the glue was failing and the documents were becoming loose and were falling out of the scrapbook. Documents may already have lost their original order and/or may have been lost due to this damage. The damage was getting worse with every use. Therefore, to protect the documents and to facilitate use of the documents, the documents were remove. The documents were left in the order that they were found at the time of removal.
