Burr, the man in front wearing the jersey with the "S" on the front, leading a race. Behind him and the other runners are the stands full of spectators. There are spectators standing on the side of the track as well. It is not known whether this was a race while John Burr was a student at the Springfield Technical High School or a student at Springfield College. To learn more about John H.
