This is a contact sheet with photos of Dr. Diane Potter, long-time Softball coach at Springfield College, in most photos standing with a softball bat underneath the Potter Field scoreboard. Dr. Diane Potter was Springfield College’s first gymnastics and softball coach. She coached the women's softball team for an amazing 21 years. She formed the varsity squad of Softball at Springfield College in the 1963-1964 academic school year. From the bottom up, Coach Potter was considered to be a leading pioneer for softball in the New England area. She coached the softball team for twenty-one years, compiling a 227-123 record that includes four undefeated seasons. In 1989, she became the second woman inducted into the Springfield College Athletics Hall of Fame, and during that academic year, she served as the Springfield Distinguished Professor of Humanics.
