  <mods:abstract>This is a recommendation form for George Day, a Springfield College (then known as International YMCA Training School) alumnus, dated May 27, 1891. The name of the man who filled out the recommendation might be J. W. Cook. The recommendation talks about general information and impressions on Day, including what impressions on personality, health and religion. George E. Day is a member of Class 1893 of Springfield College (then known as International YMCA Training School). He was born in North Dana. Mass., September 21, 1864. He was a student at Harvard University, 1908-09. After graduating from Springfield College, he worked as general secretary for Y.M.C.A. at Lynn, Mass., Syracuse, N.Y., Malden, Mass., and Somerville, Mass. He is a frequent contributor to the newspapers and periodicals. He published one novel, A Wilderness Cry; and a volume of poems, Wild Rose and Thistle. He is a member of the Congregational church. He was married to Nettie Mabel Fisher and had three children. He died on November 1, 1919.</mods:abstract>
