International YMCA College Summer School poster, 1920
Description:
A poster for the Summer School of Physical Education for men offered at the International YMCA College, now Springfield College. The summer school was held from June 28 to July-31, 1920. The poster includes information about the School of Coaching which offered courses in football, baseball, track, basketball soccer, swimming and hygienic gymnastics. There can be seen four photographs as part of the poster. The photograph in the middle center of the poster depicts a College football game. The photograph on the middle left side depicts the McCurdy Natatorium inside Judd Gymnasia. The photo in the right middle side depicts the Sophomore class doing a gymnastic exercise in the college's West Gymnasium inside Judd Gymnasia. The photograph in the bottom depicts the 1919 Summer School group portrait. Finally the poster also gives information about the courses, location and equipment to be used in the Summer School.
