This is an unpublished manuscript titled, "The Naismith Chronicles: Being Letters BY, TO, and ABOUT Dr. James Naismith, Father of Basketball and Other Creations Even More Beguiling - Margey, Honnie, Jack, MaudAnn, and Jim. It was written by Katherine Holmes Naismith, the wife of James Sherman Naismith, son of Dr. James Naismith. it is a collection of edited letters written by Dr. James Naismith, Maude Naismith and their children with a preface and commentary written by Katherine Naismith. The letters span from the time that James and Maude are married and move from Springfield Massachusetts to Denver Colorado, around 1894, through his time in Paris France during World War I (ca. 1917-1919) to his time going to the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The last letter to appear is dated April 12, 1939, shortly before his death. The letters were edited and chosen by Katherine Naismith and were part of the families collection of letters. Original document is divided into Folder 2 and Folder 3 for preservation reasons (to fit in folder); Each page was scanned individually as a jpg and tiff files. These files were changed into a PDF document.; Exact date this document was put together is not know at this time.; Original draft of book, along with notes and perhaps copies of the letters are held in the Jim Naismith family papers collection, currently unprocessed, held within the Springfield College Archives and Special Collections.;
