Description:
A three-page letter from Laurence L. Doggett to H.J. Talbot dated June 13th, 1919. In this letter, Doggett recounts information about the events that led to the death of Talbot's son, Richard Talbot. Richard Victor Talbot attended Springfield College from September 14, 1914 to March 31,1916. He is regarded as the class of 1917, but did not graduate because he joined the Canadian troops as a Sergeant Major of the 5th Pioneer Overseas Battalion during World War I. In July 1917, he was reported missing later confirmed to be taken prisoner by the Germans. He died from his wounds while in captivity.
