To see this item, see: https://cdm16122.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/p16122coll16/id/3925/rec/1. William Jessop (officially listed as the Springfield College class of 1898 though he never graduated) was the general secretary of 4 Y.M.C.A's from 1896-1913, including Summit, NJ, Brantford, Ont., Elizabeth, NJ, and Washington DC. In 1915, he was appointed supervisor of army work in Egypt. In 1919, he received an honorary Masters in Humanics at Springfield College. After the war he would do a a lot of work with the New East Foundation. In 1935, he was admitted to the Robert Brigham Hospital for Amyothroptic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease), and would pass away from it in the same year. Item is undated, but given Jessop served as war secretary in Egypt in 1915, it is assumed this item is from 1915 or sometime shortly after.
