A photograph of the Pukwana lodge on the East Campus of Springfield College. It was the first permanent building created on East Campus. Of Pueblo construction, Pukwana means "Smoke of the peace pipe. It was a one room structure with an open fireplace in one corner. It was built as a test structure to see if it could withstand damage from Frost. The result of the experiment led to the construction of the Pueblo of the Seven Fires. Shown is the doorway and the outside of the structure.
