A photograph of the east side of Springfield College's dormitary, Massasoit Hall. In this photo can be seen its four floors and a door leading to the side entrance of the building, as well as plants decorating its landscape. Due to its location, Massasoit Hall was originally named "South Hall" as there was no dedication given at the time of its completion in September of 1959. The building was later given its name in 1961 after the lake that it sits on. Although it originally functioned as an all-male dormitory, Massasoit Hall became the first dormitory to change to a co-ed dormitary in 1969. Today, freshman and first year students of Springfield College reside in the dormitory each year that holds the Emerging Leaders Program Learning Community.
