Postcard from Leon C. Mann to the professors and students of Springfield College (December 28, 1916)
Description:
A postcard sent by Leon C. Mann to the professors and students of the YMCA Springfield College dated December 28th, 1916. On the front of the postcard is a picture of French buildings in ruins. The title on the front says "Baccarat - Rue Grande", basically the main street of Baccarat in France. On the back of the postcard, Mann tells them his wish for Europe after the war's end. Leon Charles Mann came to Springfield College in 1906 and graduated with a bachelors in humanics in 1909. He was the general secretary of the Y.M.C.A of France from 1909 to 1914 when he enlisted in the french army to help out in world war 1. Later on in his life he became a pastor in Clairac (lot et garonne) France.
