In back of Ricardo is a Springfield gymnastics sign with a spirit, mind, and body triangle attached to it. In 1994, Ricardo Portalatin was named Springfield College Senior Male "Athlete-of-the-Year." Ricardo earned All-American recognition in 1991, 1992, and 1994. During the 1993 season, Portalatin had total reconstructive knee surgery and was forced to take the season off.
