Letter from Charles W. Sargent to Doris M. Fletcher, 1954
Description:
A letter that was written by Charles W. Sargent of the Kansas Historical Collections and sent to Doris M. Fletcher the librarian at Springfield College in 1954. It seems to be answering a question in regards to Dr. James Naismith's citizenship in the United States. The second sentence states, "Yes, Dr. James Naismith became a citizen of the United States in the District Court of Douglas County, Kansas on May 4th, 1925." It also states that, "He had previously made his declaration on September 11th, 1918". To learn more about Dr. James Naismith, see: https://springfield.as.atlas-sys.com/agents/people/645
